To Friends, Family and Followers.
Life at the Honor Academy has been very interesting.
This weekend we had the Fasting LTE, (for those of you who don't know LTE stands for Life Transforming Event.) and wow I have never had a fast like that before. This is my third year here at the Honor Academy and my fifth Fasting LTE, two fasts a year, for you math majors out there. Now here is the trippy part of our LTE, a man came in and lead us in something called "guided imagery". I had never done guided imagery before and to this have not participated in guided imagery. We were instructed to lay on the floor, breath cleansing breathes (in the noes out the mouth) and relax. He then hopped on the mic and lead us through mental gymnastics which included, a flying magic carpet, colored body parts, the true and false self, a hall with Jesus in it and doors with our past hurts behind them. I don't know if any of you have ever heard of such a thing...but as of right now, I'm not down with it. I was told it was a processing technique and some people process better this way. Yet, I still don't know what I think. I don't know why any Christian should lay on the ground and breath cleansing breathes. There is no real Biblical basis for why we should do it. I'm glad I did not do it, and I don't plan on ever doing it. ah! I feel like it's some mystic, new age activity done under the name of the Holy Spirit. My conscience wont let me do it, and I'll walk in that.
Not only did that happen, but there was more. In one of the "worship" services we had, the crowed broke out in laughter. And a voice came from the pulpit "Let's read Bible verses and laugh."...what a miss use of God's Word. Are you joking me!! "Let's read Bible verses and laugh." That's the biggest twisting and degrading use of Scripture I have ever seen live. Where is the Fear of the Lord? Where is a love for God's truth? It's gone, evaporated with their hermeneutics, discernment and understanding of Scripture. I pray that we can always see the truth, follow it and be lead by the Lord and His voice.
Some good did come of the weekend. I was able to do a lot of personal study and Bible reading. The Lord is good.
That's my update for now...
